Fully embedded within the software is the Sherpa optimization algorithm. This allows users to perform parametric sweeps and stochastic studies to discover better designs faster. You can automatically explore the design space to minimize weight, maximize efficiency, or reduce drag without being an optimization expert.

 

CAD Interoperability & Geometry Preparation

Simcenter STAR-CCM+ maintains a bi-directional link with all major CAD packages (CATIA, NX, SolidWorks, etc.). Changes in the simulation model can drive changes in the CAD geometry. The built-in 3D-CAD modeler allows for quick geometry clean-up, defeaturing, and surface wrapping to prepare even the "dirtiest" geometries for simulation.
