About the event
It has become a highly competitive market for engineering and equipment vendors who are challenged to reducing costs while improving efficiency and productivity of bulk material handling systems. Although conveyor transfer systems account for a small percentage of the infrastructure cost of a plant or mine, poorly-performing transfer points are often responsible for significant operational challenges, resulting in unplanned down-time, reduced throughput, and lost productivity. In this webinar we will discuss the challenges faced by designers and operators when designing transfer chutes. We will introduce EDEM – specialized bulk material simulation software for transfer chute design and optimization – and demonstrate how it can be used to address key design challenges.
Agenda Covers:
1) Overview of typical transfer chute problems and how to address these problems
2) Traditional methods to design chutes
3) Limitations with continuum models
4) EDEM based chute design and verification
5) Material testing and selection of material models for simulation
6) Industrial case studies
